- OCR extracted text (stored locally, never transmitted)
🔑 Permissions We Request
DocuScan requests only the permissions necessary for core functionality:
- Camera — Required to scan documents using your device camera
- Read Media Images — Required to import existing images for scanning
- Storage (Android 9 and below) — Required to save scanned files
- Biometric / Fingerprint — Optional, used for app lock security
- Vibrate — Used for haptic feedback during scanning
- Post Notifications — Used for background processing notifications
No permission data is ever transmitted outside your device.
💾 Data Storage
All data generated by DocuScan is stored in your device's private app storage. This means:
- No data is uploaded to any server or cloud service
- No data is accessible by other apps
- All data is permanently deleted when you uninstall the app
- You can delete individual documents at any time from within the app
🔗 Third-Party Services
DocuScan uses the following third-party libraries that operate entirely on-device:
- Google ML Kit (Text Recognition) — Offline OCR processing, no data sent to Google
- CameraX — Android camera framework by Google, local only
- iText PDF — Local PDF generation library
None of these libraries transmit your document data externally. All processing happens locally on your device.
👶 Children's Privacy
DocuScan does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Since the app collects no personal information from any user, it is safe for use by all age groups.

We take the security of your documents seriously. DocuScan provides:
